What is Generalized Anxiety Disorder

It is not unusual to worry about everyday life circumstances and events but for people with generalized anxiety disorder, everyday worries can become extreme. These worries can become troublesome, persist throughout the day, and interfere with daily living.

Symptoms of Generalized Anxiety Disorder

In addition to invasive thoughts and worry, generalized anxiety disorder is associated with many physiological and psychological symptoms.

  • Restlessness or feeling keyed up or on edge
  • Easily fatigued
  • Difficulty concentrating or mind just goes blank
  • Irritability
  • Muscle tension
  • Difficulty sleeping

About the Study Medication

Although there are medications currently approved for anxiety which include medications such and antidepressants and benzodiazepines, there is still an unmet need in treatment. This study is evaluating whether a new medication targeting the glutamate system can help alleviate symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder. 

No Cost Study

There is no cost to participate in the study, and the study participant who is eligible will receive the following:

  • Medical Evaluation.
  • Investigational Medication.
  • Study Related Medical Care.
  • Compensation up to $990.
  • Complimentary transportation or a travel stipend.
