HIp Osteoarthritis

What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is the breakdown of a joint, such as the knee or hip. Each joint is made of cartilage: the firm, rubbery tissue that cushions the bones of your joints. Having cartilage present allows your bones to glide smoothly when moving your joint. When the cartilage starts to break down and then wear away, the bones can rub together. This process can cause pain, swelling, and stiffness.
