Northwest Clinical Research Center is currently enrolling participants for a Phase 2 clinical trial aimed at evaluating the efficacy of an investigational medication for individuals diagnosed with bipolar disorder, types 1 and 2. This study is designed to explore new monotherapy treatment options to better manage symptoms of bipolar depression and improve overall mental health outcomes.
Bipolar depression, encompassing both type 1 and type 2, is a complex mood disorder marked by significant fluctuations in mood, energy, and activity levels. These mood episodes—can disrupt a person’s ability to function effectively in everyday life, impacting work, relationships, and overall well-being. Type 1 is often associated with more severe manic episodes, whereas type 2 features less intense hypomanic episodes coupled with profound depressive episodes. Proper management of these mood is essential to reducing the personal and social burden of the disorder and improving long-term mental health outcomes.
